General

A Business Rules Engine separates business logic from application code. Instead of hard-coding decisions like pricing, eligibility, or risk scores into your software, you define them as rules in a central platform. This lets business teams update logic without waiting for engineering, while engineers maintain governance and version control.

AI Rules is built for both business and engineering teams. Business analysts, actuaries, risk managers, and operations teams use the no-code editors to build and modify rules. Engineering teams use the APIs, SDKs, version control, and CI/CD integrations to govern and deploy rules.

Unlike legacy rules engines that require specialized training and proprietary languages, AI Rules combines spreadsheet-like editors with AI-powered rule creation. Our AI Agent rule type lets you describe logic in plain language. Plus, we offer modern developer tooling — Git-style version control, REST APIs, native SDKs, and CI/CD integration.

Pricing

Yes! The Free tier gives you up to 3 rules, the Decision Table editor, 500 API calls per month, and community support — no credit card required. It's perfect for exploring the platform and building your first automated decisions.

Yes — you can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. When upgrading, you'll get immediate access to new features. When downgrading, changes take effect at the end of your billing cycle.

Yes! Annual billing saves you 20% compared to monthly billing. Contact our sales team to set up annual billing for Lite or Enterprise plans.

Security

We are SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certified. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). We support SSO/SAML, role-based access control, and comprehensive audit logging. For regulated industries, we offer single-tenant and on-premise deployment options.

You choose your data region during setup. We currently offer deployment in US (us-east-1, us-west-2), EU (eu-west-1, eu-central-1), and APAC (ap-southeast-1) regions. On-premise deployments store data entirely within your infrastructure.

SSO/SAML is available on the Enterprise plan. We support Okta, Azure AD, Google Workspace, OneLogin, and any SAML 2.0-compliant identity provider.

Integration

We provide REST APIs, gRPC endpoints, and native SDKs for JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, .NET, PHP, and Go. You can call rules from any application via HTTP, trigger them from webhooks, or embed the decision engine directly into your services.

Yes — rules can query external data sources during execution, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and REST APIs. This lets you look up customer data, pricing tables, or risk scores in real-time as part of your decision logic.

We have native integrations with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, CircleCI, and Azure DevOps. Our CLI tool (airules) lets you validate, test, and deploy rules from any CI/CD pipeline.

Technical

Our inference engine is built in Rust and evaluates rules in sub-millisecond time. A single Decision Table with 10,000 rows and 50 columns executes in under 100µs. For high-throughput scenarios, we benchmark at 50,000+ decisions per second on a single node.

We offer three deployment models: Cloud (multi-tenant SaaS), Dedicated (single-tenant cloud), and On-Premise (deployed in your infrastructure). Hybrid mode lets you keep sensitive rules on-premise while using our cloud for everything else.

Every rule change is automatically versioned with a full audit trail — who changed what, when, and why. You can compare versions side-by-side, roll back to any previous version with one click, and enforce approval workflows for production changes.

We support six rule types: Decision Tables (spreadsheet-style), Decision Flows (visual flowcharts), Decision Trees (IF-THEN-ELSE branching), Scripting Rules (JavaScript/TypeScript), AI Agent Rules (natural language), and Lookup Tables (key-value dictionaries).
